Hawaii: France honors 57 WWII veterans
57 hawaiian veterans of the 442nd RCT and the 100th Infantry Battalion have been honored for their fortitude and steadfast courage, by the French consul general in San Francisco. Pauline Carmona has presented the French Legion of Honor to the veterans first on the Big Island, then on Maui, and finally on Oahu, during her mission on Hawaii (January 21-23).
In Kona, Pauline Carmona has decorated 5 WWII veterans on wednesday january 21st.

On January 22, in Kahului (Maui), 18 veterans received the French Legion of Honor.
France, during a ceremony held in Honolulu at the Japanese Cultural Center, showed its appreciation on Friday (January 23) to 34 veterans who fought in what’s considered the most vicious battle of World War II.
