Each chef will offer a “French-style” menu in their restaurant with a traditional French aperitif, a cold starter,a hot starter, fish or shellfish, meat or poultry, a French cheese (or cheeseboard), a chocolate dessert, French wines and digestifs, while remaining free to highlight their own culinary traditions and cultures.

The cuisine will be accessible to all, from bistros through to exceptional restaurants, and based on fresh, seasonal and local products with lower levels of fat, sugar, salt and protein.

The menu’s price is at the restaurant’s discretion, and they are all encouraged to donate 5% of proceeds to a local NGO promoting health and the environment.

San Francisco - "Café de la Presse"

In San Francisco, Café de la Presse will be the restaurant participating at this worldwide event, on March 19, 2015.

Opened in September 2005 by Laurent Manrique, Jean Claude Persais, Lilyan Wong and Steve Mayer, Café de la Presse meshes a polished flair for modern fashion with a distinctly old-world feel. The newsstand offers more than 500 international titles. Outdoor tables and vividly painted red, blue, and yellow exteriors evoke a classic Parisian tabac, adding a striking element to the bustling corner of downtown’s Grant Avenue and Bush Street.

Last week, we met Olivier Daridon (general manager - Café de la Presse). In this video, he told us why Café de la Presse is partnering with Good France, and why this culinary event celebrating innovation in French cuisine means a lot for this french restaurant.

Café de la Presse Executive Chef Patrick Albert ‘s commitment to creating traditional but innovative French fare infuses this Parisian-inspired café with authenticity.
On March 19th, Patrick Albert will serve his French dinner.
