YOU MUST BRING ALL THE REQUIRED DOCUMENTS FOR THE TYPE OF VISA FOR WHICH YOU ARE APPLYING PLUS PHOTOCOPIES ON THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT. THE DOCUMENTS YOU MUST BRING ARE LISTED ON THIS WEBSITE FOR EACH TYPE OF VISA
To eliminate long lines the Consulate General of France in San Francisco implemented an online appointment service to better serve our purpose. An appointment is needed only to submit your visa application, not to pick up your visa once delivered.
Please note that our automated appointment system does not include individual countries’ public holidays (for example July 4 or Thanksgiving in the United States). Visa applicants must therefore consult our calendar of holidays by clicking here before booking an appointment.
Please also note that it is now possible to change or cancel an appointment, or re-print your receipt.
If you cannot come the day of your appointment you MUST cancel it 48 hours before the day of your appointment!
If your receipt doesn’t print but you entered your personal information, we’ll have your name on the list. Also if you have a Mac and you have trouble booking an appointment, try booking it with a PC.

Do I still have to come in person?
YES, each applicant must appear in person and everyone over twelve must be fingerprinted.

Monday and Wednesday : 9:00 am to 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm to 3:30 pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday : 9:00 am to 12:30 pm (closed in the afternoon)
